You can’t see honesty

Never find it on a mask

You can’t hear integrity

Ear pressed against the glass

 

If eloquence a fruit

Doesn’t make its juice the truth

He’ll catch you with a tease

So be careful where you squeeze

He’s putting on the mask

He’s putting one on you

 

Don’t look for honesty

On faces of paint

Don’t look for integrity

In places where it ain’t

Won’t find it from the source

When it’s the action has the force

It’s not when it’s said

It’s when it’s done

And it’s not how it’s said

It’s only when it’s done

 

Don’t be blinded

By glitz and shine

May be music to your ears

But not what you have in mind

Looks like candy

Tastes like rind

Feel with your heart

But think with your mind

Or the man behind the mask

Will beat you every time

All part of his plan

To beat you all the time
