Fading Fields Of Blue
Fading Fields Of Blue
6.21.2020
America’s colors
Forged, tried and true
Fifty white stars
Illuminate a field of blue
And colony stripes
Of red and white
Stacked in alternating hues
At millennium turn
Amidst election’s churn
To fill a legend to the map
Of the nation’s political spectrum
The media tied
Colors to the parties two
Republican red
And Democrat blue
But take a closer look
While republican red
Blends with the flag’s
Democrat blue
The color lags
A much faded hue
Falls short
Washed out
Against the field of blue
Coincidence
Oh, I think not
Only one shade of blue
The American flag’s got
And does dem blue match
No, it does not
But it matches how they’ve tried
To change our colors
To remove justice from
The field of blue
To leave freedom but
A washed out hue
It is clear with every message sent
It is clear, their actions, their intent
Though they’ve yet succeeded
They are hell-bent
To change our colors
America’s colors
To a washed out palette
Socialist bent
So come November
Vote red
Vote true
To keep our flag
True freedom’s hue
Don’t change America’s field of blue
To their party color’s washed out hue
Their thoughts to pillage
Fields of blue
Only reflect how they
Are washed up too
Their every action
Their every inaction
Supports it too
My face reflects
Republican red
In anger of what
They intend to do
Wash freedom’s fields
Of freedom blue
Act now
Act American now
To do nothing will not do
For to do nothing
To be complacent
Is to be complicit to
The fading of our freedom
As they fade us democrat blue
Stars dim in fading fields of blue
Say no to fading fields of blue
