Wake up
They’re trashing your caves
And harassing your cubs
Wake up sleeping bear

Can’t sleep through this storm
If you do
You may wake up with the nightmare
As the norm
You may wake up to find
Your freedom gone
You may wake up to find
What you’d earned is burning
Burned at the hands of those
Who don’t know what it means to have earned
But are more than happy to watch your life burn
Wake up sleeping bear
Wake up
Not just on all fours
Stand up
To protect all that’s yours
Don’t give up
They’ll take it all
And then they’ll take more
If you let them
Wake up sleeping bear
Wake up
Under masks that they wear
But they are the virus
Trying to divide
The U.S. from all of us
Wake up sleeping bear
Wake up
They are what they stand against
They are ignorance fueled by malevolence
True, black bears matter
As do they all
But Black Bears Matter
A façade as a call
Not the same at all
Not even a distant cousin
And so, matter, it doesn’t
But a front to funnel
Cash and fuel flames
Cash from sheep who celebrate their own names
Flames from the sheep who’ve fallen from life’s aims
For the wolves playing govern-mental games
And through their front lines
Lined with sheep
Their pockets lined
Funding deep
This is not a good time
For a good bear to sleep
So, wake up sleeping bear
