For the trees
The leaves
Are called leaves

All dressed up
In fall colors
Made up

Fall is sad
Winter’s lonely
Not so bad
For the trees
If the leaves would only
Stop living up to their names
Put an end
To their falling games
Maybe the leaves

To call them stays
