The plight of Lester Grynthal
He’s got his eyes
But not his ears
On a history changing wall
So he can see
But cannot hear
The message leading to the fall
His future is his greatest fear
That is
If he’s got one at all
Lester Grynthal
Haven’t posted any writing for a while. I’ve been working on my structure edit for The Kite and the Coin Toss. This puzzle concept popped into my brain and I ran with it. It took me away for a little while, maybe that was just what I needed. Now…back to the book.
The night chases light
The Edit and the Coin Toss landed heads. Later this year, I can’t wait to see how The Kite and the Coin Toss lands.
Until then, edit on.
To every proud parent.
What’s in a name?
Heads will roll, or tales of freedom.
RIP Neil Peart
How much are you willing to pay for freedom?
For the House of Misrepresentatives…
Hippo Critters
Hippo Critters
Don’t do as they do
Do as they say
Hippo Critters bite
If they don’t get their way
Just completed my final edit of The Kite and the Coin Toss…
Worrying’s overrated
What has it ever done
For anyone
It’s passé, démodé and outdated
The olde-fashioned stressor
Second to none
Control what you can control
Control no more
Control no less
Control what you can control
Control yourself
Don’t second guess
Come on
Come on
Let’s rise above this hatred
Hell is open bordered
But Heaven is pearly gated
Come on
Come on
Come rise above the hatred
When a glance into a mirror
Reflects what you’ve been trained to fear
Rise up
Rise up
Then rise above the hatred
Oh love, laughter and lightning
May be our thing
But we’ll never clip the wings of angels
Never clip the angels’ wings
Such beautiful feathers
Such beautiful things
Worth so much more
On the backs of angels
Worth so much more
As angelic wings
Such beautiful things
Soaring high up above us
But we can still hear them sing
Over the sounds of our love
Our laughter and lightning
All the signs
They point the other way
The wind cries
“Save yourself!
Turn and run away!”
The sun hides
The moon rides
Its own tidal wave
Sees you’re frozen in your tracks
Knows you’re never coming back
Never saw it coming
Never make it through the night
Never see the light of another day
Should have taken off running
Should have run toward the light
Should have seen the danger coming your way
He thinks he’s the hunter
She knows he’s the prey
He thinks he’s the hunter
She knows he’s the prey
My lady’s coming back
Til then
This heartfelt promise
I pen Gwen
Oh, I pen Gwen
From incubate to crack
Til then
This heartfelt promise
I pen Gwen
Oh, I pen Gwen
I penguin and I pen Gwen
Too many people
Take an elephant to mouse
When it comes to providing
They want a big house
But to build a big home
Not that space that you need
But enough for the love
And the mouths that you feed
So to raise a good family
Make it rule one
Little house
Big home
Big house
Big home
In a world that’s unforgiving
It’s all taking and no giving
Save for me
I’ll do your bidding
Though they find our love forbidding
All I need is a message from you
Say it’s true
Say it’s true
Me and you
Say it’s true
And you do
As long as it’s not criminal
Stand out
Be an original
Don’t worry what the others do
Doesn’t matter
As long as you stay true
Doesn’t matter
As long as you stay you
You stay you
