A Snowflake In The Cycle Of A Tear
12.14.2013
As if on command
The snowflake
Landed on her cheek
Melted
Leaving the tear
Her eyes failed to send
They had long since dried up
They had long since run out
Given up having learned
The love in her life would end
Thinking
Hers a broken heart
Would never mend
Took the melt
Of a snowflake
For her to feel life again
Not the feeling of loss
But from the heat off her skin
The warmth from her heart
Her heart on the mend
From a cold, cold sadness
Until it found its warming trend
A snowflake in the cycle of a tear
This snowflake
Had gone full circle
Finally found its way back home
Completing the water cycle
Where it started as a tear
To the ground
To the sky
But the salt to the earth
Water down and around
Until it landed here
As a snowflake
Melting
Representing a tear
Only not for love lost
For that stayed with the salt
But as proof a broken heart
Had not been the cost
That a bruised heart could heal
Heal from one love lost
A smile ensued
As did another tear
Only not from the cold
But a warmth from within
Greeting happiness
As if it was a long lost friend
She turned her head up
Turned her head up to the sky
To catch the next flake on her tongue
The very next to catch her eyes
And take back what one tear had stolen
When love said its first goodbye
Took the melt
Of a snowflake
For her to feel life again
Not the feeling of loss
But from the heat off her skin
The warmth from her heart
Her heart on the mend
From a cold, cold sadness
Until it found its warming trend
A snowflake in the cycle of a tear
