As evil does
Evil’s done
Pure evil now
America is
Or America was
Depends upon
What we do now
What We the People
Will allow
We’ve watched them steal
We’ve watched them all lie
We’ve watched them kill
Watched Lady Liberty cry
As she’s watched as we’ve
Allowed our freedom to die
But it’s not dead yet
How much closer to death
Will we allow it to get
Not another inch, says I
As Ben Franklin once penned
I say
Join or die
Said Paul Revere
On that two lantern night
They’re coming to take
Our freedom tonight
As they have been for decades
As they will forever try
But not on my watch
Not in our sun’s light
Washington to Franklin
Of the sun on his chair
Was it rising
Or setting
Metaphoric to be clear
The sun was America
A new star was born
Now politically addled
And from the inside
Now torn
But unlike the sun
Faithful to rise
Faithful to set
Not time for the flame
Of liberty to set
Not time for America
To give up just yet

I’ll be Paul Revere
Whatever it takes
To make it perfectly clear
2024
Is a critical year
And I’m here to fight
For a freedom
I hold dear

We the People
Should ever allow
