In this world of lies
Where
If integrity still exists
It must be bound in the shadows
Beaten by the fists
Of the unelected and
Mainstream media’s hits
I stand for truth
I fight for integrity
I shoot for those stars
Though
In irony
I know
A lie to myself is told
To believe
Within this world of lies
To believe
In so lofty a goal
But I respond to my lie
With a dream and hope that I
While shooting for those stars
I just might make it
To the moon
I just might find
I’m not alone
So
In this world of lies
Are you a truth who hides
An integrity alive
Eyes focused on afar
A goal to reach the stars
Then
As hope will have it soon
I’ll meet you on the moon
Where you too will find a home
Where you are not alone
